Home Zone and Out of Zone Enrolments

Enrolment zone
All students are encouraged to apply for enrolment regardless of their place of permanent residence. All students who live within the ‘home zone’ as per the enrolment-zone shall be entitled to enrol at Napier Intermediate. 
Some common mistakes to watch for: 
  • Enter your child as a Year 7 or Year 8 on the form
  • Ensure you enter your child's name, not your own under Student Basic Details
  • Ensure there are at least two contact numbers on the form
If you are unable to access the online Enrolment document you are welcome to come into school and use the device set up, especially for this purpose. Please come in or ring the office to seek advice at 06 835 6013.

Out of Zone Enrolments

The Board has determined that there are likely to be places available for out-of-zone students next year for 2026.  The deadline for Out of Zone enrolments is Friday 3rd October.   The exact number will depend on the number of applications received from students who live in the school zone.If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available students will be selected by ballot.  If a ballot is required it will be held on Tuesday 15th October.   Parents will be informed of the results of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
  1. This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary of Education.
  2.  Will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
  3.  Will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  4. Will be given to applicants who is a child of a former student of the school. 
  5.  Will be given to applicants who are children of board employees will be given to all other applicants.
  6. Will be given to all other applicants. 
If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary of Education under Section 11 G(1) of the Education Act 1989.
